TRUE COST GENERATION RATE (TCGR) APPLICATION
FOR SIQUIJOR FILED WITH ERC

 

       The True Cost Generation Rate (TCGR) application for Siquijor, under ERC Case No. 2010-087RC, was filed by the National Power's Small Power Utilities Group (NPC-SPUG) with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on 14 July 2010.


       In previous reports carried in this website, transaction advisor, International Finance Corporation (IFC) is set to bid out the generation function of Siquijor Area. If approved by the ERC, the TCGR will serve as basis for the ceiling price for Siquijor's New Power Provider (NPP) tariff during the transition period prior to the commissioning date of the NPP's proposed power plant and the Universal Charge for Missionary Electrification (UCME) to be extended thereat.


       To comply with the rules against forum shopping, NPC-SPUG filed on 05 July 2010, the "Motion for Exclusion of Siquijor" from the TCGR application for the 17 SPUG areas. TCGR application under ERC Case No. 2006-004RC was filed on 30 January 2006 and is currently awaiting resolution from the ERC.
