SPUG FILES CONSOLIDATED MOTION ON TCGR AND SAGR
FOR THE 60 REMAINING AREAS WITH THE ERC

On 05 July 2010, the National Power's Small Power Utilities Group (NPC-SPUG) filed its "Consolidated Motion for Resolution" on its previous separate petitions for the approval of the TCGR and SAGR for the 60 remaining areas.

The application entitled, "In the Matter of the Application for the Approval of True Cost Generation Rate (TCGR) with Provisional Authority" under ERC Case No. 2006-004RC was filed on 30 July 2006. On the other hand, the application entitled "In the Matter of the Application for the Approval of Socially-Acceptable Generation Rate (SAGR) for 60 Remaining NPC-SPUG Areas" under EC Case No. 2006-020RC was filed on 02 June 2006.

The following justifications were cited in the consolidated motion with the ERC to resolve the above cases:

  • The "Consolidated Motion for Provisional Authority or Interim Relief" filed on 10 February 2009 was not granted by the ERC.

  • The ongoing privatization of the missionary areas requires the establishment of TCGR and SAGR.

  • A sufficient time has elapsed for the evaluation of the applications.
