Philippine Rural Electrification Service (PRES) - Masbate

Delivery of materials coming from France is still on-going. Materials with equivalent cost of the 70% of the offshore contact were already delivered in Masbate. Installation of Solar home system for  5,200 households in 113 barangays started last 28 February 2008. Out of the target 113 barangay in Masbate,  87 Barangays were energized with 4,173 household beneficiaries. The installation of diesel mini-grid systems in  100 barangays will start in September 2008 with total beneficiaries of 12, 800 households. The project is currently suspended due to  insurgency problem in Masbate. Works are expected to resume in August 2008.
