Tampinco said in the report. He added that the agreement would be part of NAPOCOR's efforts to provide power to the missionary areas being served by the National Power's Small Power Utilities Group (NPC-SPUG). In previous reports from the major dailies and posted in this website, NAPOCOR had earlier been in talks with CLENERGEN and ENERTINE for possible development of biomass resources for power projects in the off-grid areas. The enactment of R.A. 9513 (Renewable Energy Act) in 2008 has spurred a wave of proposals from the private sector signifying interest to participate in new and renewable energy projects and take advantage of the incentives provided for in the law. |
