CONSTRUCTION OF NEW DINAGAT DIESEL POWER PLANT
With the recent acquisition of additional 2 x 500kW brand new MAN gensets, Dinagat DPP will transfer to a newly acquired 1.80-hectare site located at Barangay Wilson, San Jose, Province of Dinagat Islands. Construction of the new power plant is now 30% accomplished. The plant will house the existing 2.20MW installed capacity to be transferred from the old power plant and the additional 2 x 500kW new gensets.
The new Province of Dinagat Islands (formerly under Surigao del Norte) is composed of seven (7) municipalities. Presently, these seven (7) municipalities are all energized by two (2) interconnecting SPUG power plants - Dinagat and Loreto DPPs. Loreto DPP, which is also located in the same island has a total installed capacity of 940 kilowatts. The distance between Dinagat and Loreto DPPs is approximately 80 circuit kilometers.
